恒例の「秋の市民茶会」がThe Place 229で11月2日に開催されました。通常通り、一階では立礼での薄茶席に加え、今回初めての試みとして、二階には畳を敷き濃茶席を設置しました。会場の係の方のご協力で、二階には立派な即席茶室が設置されました。立礼は明治維新頃に考案されたものであること、お点前、茶道具の説明がされました。建物の都合上、風炉での濃茶席ですが、11月ということもあり「壺飾り」を第二席のみ披露しました。壺飾りの意図や目的、またその時期についての説明は、席中お客様に説明がなされました。 サイレントオークションがネット上で開催されました。たくさんの善意に支えられた結果、2360㌦の収益を上げることが来ました。心より感謝いたします。
The 229 Fall Public Tea Ceremony took place on November 2, 2019. For the first time both usucha and koicha sessions were held. Usucha was ryurei style on the first floor as usual and koicha was on the second floor on tatami mats.
The opening remarks for the public sessions were about the beginnings of ryurei style tea in the Meiji era. During the course of making the tea various things were discussed including entering a tea room, purification, making of the tea, and cleaning up. The theme of the tea ceremony was discussed using the scroll, flowers, and dogu.
In spite of the Furo setting, Tsubo-kazari was showed during the second session. The meaning of this temae and the reason why this temae is performed in November were explained to all guests.
In the weeks leading up to this event an online auction was held which was very successful raising $2,360.
