🌿Chanoyu Club at Penn State University 🍵

2012年より表千家同門会米国東部支部の講師に支えられ、今年で14年目を迎えました。今期も約10名の新入部員を迎え、継続している5名のメンバーと共に、15名で楽しく稽古が始まりました。

稽古ではまずテーブルで割稽古を行い、その後、茶室で部長のサラが立派にお点前を披露しました。

サラは今期で2期目の部長を務め、今年卒業を迎えます。すでに新しい部長も決まっており、頼もしい限りです。クラスが終わった後生徒との懇談会をしましたが、次はいつ来てくれますか？と何ともかわいいコメントをいただき嬉しくなりました。

今回はフィラデルフィア地区の地区長も同行し、今後も継続的に指導を続けてくださいます。次の世代へと少しずつ紡がれていくこの活動の尊さを、改めて感じました。

Since 2012, the club has been guided and supported by instructors from the Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region USA.

This year marks our 14th anniversary! We welcomed nearly ten new members this semester, joining five continuing students to carry on the tradition.

Our practice began with basic table exercises, followed by a tea ceremony in the tea room led by our president, Sara.

Sara, now in her second term as president, will graduate this year — and a new leader has already been chosen to continue the path.

This time, the head of the Philadelphia District also joined as an instructor, ensuring ongoing mentorship for the club.

We are reminded how meaningful it is to pass the spirit of chanoyu gently and steadily to the next generation.
