Fort Hamilton High School 茶の湯クラブによる第4回目の野点茶会を校庭で開催しました。

今年は茶道に興味を持った2つのクラスが、授業の一環として先生方とともに参加し、多くの生徒が初めて野点茶会を体験しました。異国の地で日本の伝統文化を学び、お客様へ心を込めてお茶を点てる高校生たちの真剣な姿と成長が感じられる、温かいひとときとなりました。

行事の最後には、卒業を迎えるSeniorメンバーへクラブコードを贈呈し、表千家「入門」4名、相伝「習事」2名のお祝いも行いました。

来年度もFHHS茶道部を通して、さらに多くの生徒たちへ茶の湯の心と文化交流の輪が広がっていくことを願っています。

The Fort Hamilton High School Tea Ceremony Club held its 4th annual outdoor Nodate tea gathering on the school campus.

This year, two classes joined the event with their teachers as part of their coursework, giving many students their very first tea ceremony experience. It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with the sincere efforts of high school students learning Japanese tradition abroad and preparing tea with care for their guests.

At the end of the event, graduating seniors received their club honor cords, and six students were also celebrated for receiving Omotesenke tea ceremony beginner and advanced-level certifications.

We hope the spirit of chanoyu and cultural exchange will continue to grow through the FHHS Tea Ceremony Club in the years to come.
