第４回ベルビューカレッジ 「ジャパンウイーク」が９月２８日から１０月３日まで開催されました。今年はコロナの影響で、キャンパスが閉鎖中で、当初このイベントもとりやめの予定でしたが、学生たちの強い思いにより、オンライン開催される事になりました。シアトル総領事館の協賛を受けて2017年から始まったキャンパスをあげての一大日本文化祭です。オンラインイベント委員会を立ち上げ、地元の３０以上の音楽、芸術団体が支援を表明、各団体ともビデオで参加しました。日本を紹介するビデオのリンク、様々なコンテスト、ライブ中継もあり、オンラインのみでしたが、盛り沢山のイベントになりました。シアトル特別地区もこのイベントのために、茶の湯ビデオを三密を避けて製作し、参加いたしました。開催前の１ヶ月の告知期間だけで世界４０カ国２万人以上のウエブサイトへのアクセスがあったそうです。
The 4th annual Japan Week at Bellevue College was held virtually (online only) in late September / early October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bellevue College classes were being held online and the campus was closed. This annual event has been produced by the Bellevue College Japanese Culture Exchange Club with support from the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle since 2017. Although they could not have their traditional Japan Week activities on campus, many of the goals of Japan Week were still achieved through online presentations, demonstrations, and performances. In August, before the event had even begun, 20,000 had people accessed the website from around the world. The Seattle Special District created two chanoyu short videos and submitted them for this event.
