フィラデルフィア国際茶碗展

ペンシルベニア州フィラデルフィア郊外に位置するコミュニティアートセンターで開催された「フィラデルフィア国際茶碗展」おいて、2月7日と8日の二日間にわたり、茶道のデモンストレーションおよび呈茶を行いました。

この展示会には、世界各国の140人以上のアーティストによる約400点の作品が展示されました。会場の中央には、特別に設計された本格的な茶室が設置され、来場者に日本の茶道の魅力を体感していただくための空間が作り出されました。デモンストレーションでは、表千家の茶道のご紹介をはじめ、茶道の歴史や洗練された美学、文化的な奥深さについてお伝えしました。その後、参加者との活発な質疑応答が行われ、茶道への関心の高さを改めて感じる貴重な機会となりました。

A tea ceremony demonstration and service were held on February 7th and 8th at the Philadelphia International Tea Bowl Exhibition, hosted at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, Pennsylvania.

The exhibition showcased nearly 400 pieces by over 140 artists from around the world. At the center of the venue, a specially designed authentic tea room was constructed, offering visitors an immersive experience of the Japanese Way of Tea.

During the demonstration, the Omotesenke School was introduced, and we were providing insights into the history, refined aesthetics, and cultural depth of the tea ceremony. A lively Q&A session followed, allowing attendees to engage in meaningful discussions and highlighting the strong interest in this time-honored tradition.
