To commemorate the 15th Anniversary of Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region, USA, we will recreate one of the special tea gatherings held this past March.This unique event brings together the timeless beauty of the tea ceremony with the rhythm and refinement of Manhattan.

Specially commissioned tea utensils: Designed exclusively for this occasion, reflecting the cityscape and energy of Manhattan
Traditional Omotesenke artistry: Refined techniques and elegant movement that carry forward centuries of tea practice
Creative “mitate” interpretations: Mitate is the art of bringing objects from everyday life—items not originally intended as tea utensils—into the world of Sado, guided by refined sensibility and a playful spirit.

A bowl of tea (thin tea, sponsored by Sorate Co.) with a seasonal sweet
Special performance: Violin by Ms.Hiroka Matsumoto to beautifully open the first and second seatings

We are honored to present live performances by Ms. Hiroka Matsumoto, a violinist supported by the Ryuji Ueno Foundation, owned by our president, Dr. Ryuji Ueno.

Due to its worldwide popularity, matcha has become increasingly difficult to obtain. The matcha is specially suited for the tea ceremony, with a delicate and refined aroma. It is carefully cultivated on a small farm in Uji, Kyoto, and offered in New York under the brand Sorate.
