フィラデルフィア松風荘での秋の茶会

朝から秋雨が降り、晴れ間がのぞいたかと思えば、時折雲が流れるなど、変わりやすい一日となりましたが、爽やかな風が心地よく、移りゆく季節の趣を感じながら、ご参加の皆様と和やかなひとときを過ごすことができました。

今回も、薄茶席・濃茶席それぞれ二席ずつの市民茶会が開催され、多くの方々にご参加いただきました。

広間の薄茶席には「和敬清寂」のお軸が掛けられ、秋を感じさせるお道具の取り合わせと、広間から望む秋の庭とが相まって、自然との調和が感じられる趣深いお席となりました。一方、小間の濃茶席では「関座」のお軸が掛けられ、静寂の中でゆったりと濃茶をお楽しみいただくひとときとなりました。

A gentle autumn rain fell from the morning, and though the sun occasionally peeked through the drifting clouds, the weather shifted throughout the day. Yet a refreshing breeze brought comfort, and we were able to share a warm, pleasant time with our guests while appreciating the subtle beauty of the changing season.

The public tea gathering featured two usucha (thin tea) and two koicha (thick tea) sessions, welcoming many participants.

In the usucha room, a hanging scroll bearing the phrase “Wakei Seijaku” (“Harmony, Respect, Purity, and Tranquility”) was displayed. The autumn-themed utensils and the seasonal garden view from the room together created a refined harmony between the tea setting and nature.

Meanwhile, in the tea house for koicha, the scroll inscribed with “Sekiza” (“Sitting in Tranquility”) set the tone for a serene and intimate atmosphere, allowing guests to savor the deep, quiet beauty of thick tea in stillness.
